Socio-economic changes in Poland at the end of the eighties and at the beginning of the nineties of the 20th century caused the increase in tourist mobility of the society. Secondary school pupils are one of more frequent participants in tourist attendance. The article presents characterization of the tourist activity and forms of involvement of young people in tourist operations on the example of tourist trips of secondary school pupils from two different places of origin – of asmall town Włodawa and a large centre of aregion – Lublin. An analysis of the activity of young tourists in the context of geographical, demographic and socioeconomic determinants was performed.
