The article considers art of Sofi a Baudouin de Courtenay, Mykhailo Boychuk’s student during his Parisian period. Over the years of her life in art she decorated with frescoes and stained glass more than 24 cathedrals and churches all around Poland ”from Yaroslav to Western borders”. Reff ering to Bizantine artistic tradition and using theoretical and methodical principles of early Boychuk’s school, she worked at the same time with modern expressive plastic forms and brought to new life sophisticated colorism of Old-Polish Gothic. Nevertheless, authentic and self-suffi cient artistic approach, developed by Sofi a Baudouin de Courtenay, until recently was left behind the offi cial art historical knowledge in Polish humanities.
