This article discusses the issue of teacher's competence which is initiative and entrepreneurship. The author emphasizes the fact that the basis for the development of knowledge society are well-educated young people with appropriate competences. To do so, the modern school must have entrepreneurial teachers. The prerequisite for the success is a change in thinking about education.
