The issue of potential health threats to the human body while travelling is mainly a travel medicine’s subject matter. However, these problems turn out to also be at the heart of interest of the specialists in tourism bioclimatology. In the article, the problem of the specific character of health threats to tourists has been undertaken. This was done in the context of geographical environmental differences (climatic as well), the occurrence of determined illnesses and other sanitary and epidemic diseases, and the possibility of contact with dangerous fauna and flora. The carried out research and study allowed to determine the different types of potential dangers that can appear while travelling to the countries of the Mediterranean Basin. It also allowed the authors to specify what kind of health threats afflicted the questioned tourists, to evaluate the range of these phenomena, and to check if tour operators mention all these potential problems properly to the tourist.
