In the article the author hypothesises that the posthumanist thought is not only compatible with critical pedagogical reflection, but can also be interpreted as its essential implication. An important reference point for these considerations is Robert Kwaśnica’s concept of the “second degree pedagogy”, which challenges the a priori premises of the paradigmatic pedagogy. The crucial idea which is called into question is the concept of humanity. The author argues that the contestation of the anthropological frame of upbringing makes the pedagogical thought head towards a posthumanist reflection, which is presented as a critical addendum to contemporary general pedagogy. At the end of these considerations the author points out the limitations and also the possible dangers deriving from a fully posthumanist perspective on upbringing.
