This article explores the process of creating the social sphere in design. The author startsfrom transgression in the discourse of design, and examines the papers of contemporarydesigners, eg. Victor Papanek, Richard Neutra, Tom Holert. Next, the main points of designare shown: products, objects, signs and pursuit of experiences, and reconstructionof identity. Finally, the categories of “mythology”, “fetishes”, “simulacra” are applied to theinterpretation of the meaning of design. The last point of this article aims to define designand the function of the designer in the virtual age.
