Idea of democracy is a principle of school education. School democracy cannot be restricted to the teaching „on” democracy, since the democracy should create organizational solutions adopted in schools and promote democratic experience and the rational refl exion on it. The concept of democratic school culture has originated in this context. This culture implies the good educational practices in the sphere of education „for” democracy and „in” democratic community. One of those practices is the analysis of parents’ expectations. The paper presents results of the research on parents’ expectations that was conducted in one secondary school in the Warsaw agglomeration.
