The issue of guilt and political responsibility is an universal one. Do fascism and communism belong irretrievably to the past? Are enslaving masses and conquest of the entire societies over? Have the sources of totalitarianism been drained? Has humanity became resistant to them? We still need to answer these questions. In this article the author is recalling chosen analysis of Karl Jaspers and Hannah Arendt on the responsibility for the Nazism. The question of responsibility and guilt for the Nazi totalitarianism is not purely historical, but indirectly refers to current and future events and political decisions, for populist manipulation of the masses, incapable of active citizenship has changed its form, but the same, world has not yet created a new order resistant to similar dangers.
