Several rocks in the Czech-Moravian Highlands are nowadays often referred to as Perníčky ‘gingerbread’, although the correct spelling is Perničky, meaning ‘little bowls’. Old Czech pernicě ‘bowl’, surviving in dialects, has no convincing etymology.
