The article attempts to verify empirically an impact of the type of an organization on its prevailing organizational culture on the basis of diagnostic examination of the cultures of three similar-size companies from different industries and with distinct business activities, namely: an administrative unit of the local government, an educational institution, and a production & commercial company. OKAI and Harrison's tests are used as alternative research tools. The classifications of organizational cultures suggested by K. S. Cameron, R. E. Quinn and Ch. Handy are the point of reference for the results of the diagnosis.
