In Rastko Petrovic's (1898-1949) literary work inspirited by his travels three texts about Spain are of the great importance. Spanish motifs can be found in his poem 'Kordoba', in his essay 'Theatre, theatre!' and in his travel prose 'Great Spain confronted with corridas', 'Behind the mystery of Toledo', 'Fellow travellers', 'Half Chinese -half Spanish woman', and 'People talks'. In these literary texts writer does not focus on the great past of Spain. First of all, he pays special attention to individual lives in extreme situations like bullfights, flamenco performance in Grenada caves, dance in a night bar in Toledo. These people do not resemble real persons but are like theatre masks. Petrovic uses means of expressions characteristic for paintings, music or ballet. He was first of all fascinated with visual art. So in the picture of Spain created by Serbian writer dominates vision, not reality.
