This article presents the results of a botanical analysis of an uncharred object found in the urn grave 1395 at the Opatów site 1. The necropolis belongs to the Lusatian culture (Upper Silesia-Little Poland group) and the grave is dated to the V period of the Bronze Age. A band made of organic matter seems to form part of a headdress or a headband deposited as part of a funeral offering. Its botanical analysis demonstrates the use of birch bark for cloth fabrication and therefore it provides information about the utilization of plant material in the Bronze Age.
