The article analyses funds allocated to the development of rural areas in Poland following its accession to EU from the point of view of the proportion of pro-equality activities to pro-efficiency efforts. All the activities have been divided in accordance with three classifications based on different - chiefly economic, criteria. The analysis proves that pro-efficiency and pro-equality activities are close to an equilibrium at the national level but at the level of voivodeships there occur serious differences in the structure of absorption of the funds in question, which can be attributed to differences in the regional conditions.
