Stanislaw Staszic's Role in Giving Poland Access to Achievements of the Main Trend of the Scientific and Technological World Progress

Staszic was one of the leaders of alterations that were observed in the period of autonomy of the Kingdom of Poland (1815 - 1830) in the educated society circles' mentality, and in the process of laying the foundations of modern Poland. He acted as a promotor and modernizer of the local industry, an initiator of the Polish engineering schools, and a president of Warsaw Society of the Friends of Sciences that was engaged in studying and using local resources.
