Stanisław Brzyk, a merchant and town councilor from Przemyśl, who died in 1589, was one of the wealthiest townsmen in the second half of the 16th century. After his death an inventory was drawn up, including a list of cloths, valuables, vessels, robes, weaponry and books. The posthumous inventory of Stanisław Brzyk’s movable property published in this article is an excellent source of information on the financial and material position of the residents of Przemyśl. It is also valuable for researchers of the culture of language.
