La racionalidad del cristianismo no se alimenta de una verdad autofundada, encerrada en sus propias condiciones y fines. Cuando es así, la verdad siente la fuerte tentación de converger con el dominio. La verdad cristiana encuentra su molde natural en el amor, en el abrirse y darse, en depender de los otros. Así la verdad de la revelación no es concepto universal, ni vínculo necesario, sino que tiene nombre de persona: es Jesucristo, respuesta última a la pregunta, no sólo de Pilato, sino de toda persona capaz de pensar: ¿qué es la verdad?

Pomiędzy objawieniem i prawdą istnieją głębokie relacje. Nauka Kościoła odpowiedziała na krytykę oświeceniową, która odbierała cechę prawdziwości objawieniu zawartemu w dokumentach Soborów Watykańskiego I i Watykańskiego II. Artykuł prezentuje siedem propozycji, jakie pojawiły się we współczesnej teologii katolickiej, a które są reinterpretacją – w większym lub mniejszym stopniu – prawdy objawienia. Wreszcie autor odpowiada tym, którzy głoszą niemożliwość udziału autorytetu czy posłuszeństwa w procesie poznania; niemożliwość dostrzeżenia porządku Boskiego (różnego z defi nicji od ziemskiego); oraz niemożliwość wyrażenia Bożej rzeczywistości, która całkowicie transcenduje nasze ziemskie doświadczenie.

Between revelation and truth deep relationships exist. The doctrine of the Church, in the two Vatican Councils, responded to illustrated criticism denying the truth involved in revelation. This study presents seven proposals in Catholic theology in recent decades, involving a reinterpretation, in varying degrees, depending on the case, of the truth of revelation. Finally an answer is offered to those who claim the impossibility that knowledge involves authority or obedience; the impossibility to perceive a divine order (other than the mundane by defi nition), and the impossibility of expressing a divine reality that completely transcends our experience the world
