The article presents three historical objects, obtained during the rescue excavations conducted by the Institute of Archaeology of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun in Mniszek in Gmina Dragacz, archaeological site no. 16. The discovery which was the most interesting were the relics of the water mill, whose construction was dated to the fourth quarter of the 14th c. on the basis of the dendrochronological samples. The entire complex was built on the stilts in the marshyvalley near the western edge of the Lower Vistula Valley. A channel draining water from themill wheel was a part of the mill foundation. One of the banks of the channel was reinforced with wide wooden beams placed behind the stilts inserted from the water side, thus allowing the direct access to the watercourse. The stilts, which are the remnants of the platform over the channel, suggest the possibility of a bridge there. These factors were probably directly connected with a large number of monuments excavated during the research from the layers silting the stream bed, and a large amount of ceramic fragments and relics of various types of wooden elements. The objects discussed in the article are the following: a plaque of bronze sheet metal in the shape of Shell of Saint James, a fragment of a tin object with Virgin Mary, and an object interpreted as a ring with a cross. Based on the ceramics, the chronology of the layer from which the monuments were excavated is dated to the second half of the 14th c. or the first half of the 15th c., which coincides with the results of the dendrochronological research on the relics of the mill. Apart from presenting the objects, the authoradvances their interpretation as Christian worship items, and their probable connection with the pilgrimage movement. This intepretation, although most likely, lacks any analogy; thus, due to the uniqueness of objects, the article may be treated as a starting point in a discussion.
