W zmieniającej się przestrzeni społeczno-ekonomicznej, refleksyjne rodzicielstwo, zorientowane na zdobycie lub też utrzymanie określonego statusu rodziny, wymaga odpowiedzialnych decyzji edukacyjnych. Wydaje się interesujące, na ile rodzice zdają sobie sprawę z roli edukacji w procesie reprodukcji systemu społecznego. Można zauważyć szczególną skłonność rodziców klas średnich do świadomego inwestowania w przyszłość swoich dzieci i strategiczne planowanie ich biografii edukacyjnych. Autorzy artykułu chcą rzucić nowe światło na zagadnienie 'dziecka klasy średniej'. Niniejszy wywód jest próbą syntezy tego zjawiska w Polsce i w Arabii Saudyjskiej.

In the ever changing socio-economic reality, reflexive parenting, oriented at gaining or maintaining certain family status, requires the taking of responsible educational decisions. It is interesting to explore how conscious parents are about the role of education in the process of a social system’s reproduction. Amongst middle class parents, a specific tendency to rational investment in the future of their children and careful strategic planning of educational biographies may be observed. The authors want to crystallize this phenomenon and shed new light on the subject of 'middle class children'. In the following discussion, the diverse examples of Poland and Saudi Arabia are used.
