The article presents the profiles and academic achievements of the previous and current heads of the Department of Criminal Procedure: assistant professor Karol Cincio, professor Maria Lipczyńska, assistant professor Andrzej Kordik, professor Zofia Świda and professor Jerzy Skorupka. Nowadays, the Department is an important centre of academic thought in Poland. The prominent position of the Department results from the tradition and achievements of its previous and current heads and the current young, academic workers (Krzysztof Nowicki, PhD, Wojciech Jasiński, PhD, Karolina Kremens, PhD and Dagmara Gruszecka, PhD). They all make the future of the Department of Criminal Procedure look promising.
