With the rise of international tensions in 1948, Stalin ordered enlargement of the army of satellite countries of Central and Eastern Europe and their qualitative modernization. Until 1952 the Polish Army was to reach the size of 360,000 soldiers. The development of military education was also essential. The existing military schools were developed and a number of new ones was established. At the same time training programmes were shortened and requirements for general education of cadets and lecturers were reduced significantly. One of schools established in 1948 was the Infantry Officer School No. 2 in Jelenia Góra. It did not reach the complete full-time staffing until 1955, when decisions about disband the institution had already been taken. Both the structure and the organization of the Infantry Officer School No. 2 underwent changes throughout the school operation period. The changes were not always considered and adequate to the tasks designated in the school. The fact that the school attained those goals was chiefly, due to efficient school command operations, and the personnel work. Special recognition should be made to the teaching cadre, of which many officers did not have experience in this field before referring to Jelenia Góra. The success of the Infantry Officer School No. 2 was – despite the high cadre turnover – the fact that it managed to create an efficient and experienced staff of trainers. In the course of its existence in the 1948-1955 the school promoted over 3,000 Polish officers and conducted training of about 2,000 officers on short-term courses.

С ростом международной напряженности в 1948 году Сталин приказал увеличить и качественно модернизировать армии стран-сателлитов Центральной и Восточной Европы. До 1952 года Войско Польское должно быть увеличено до 360 000 солдат. Необходимо было также развитие системы военного образования. Расширено существующие военные училища и создано ряд новых. В тоже самое время были сокращены учебные программы и значительно снижены требования к общему образованию курсантов и преподавателей. Одной из созданных в 1948 году школ была Пехотная офицерская школа № 2 в Еленей Горе. Полный кадровый состав в школе достигнут едва в 1955 году, когда уже было принято решение о ее ликвидации. В структуре и организации Пехотной офицерской школы № 2 происходили постоянные изменения на протяжении всего ее существования. Не всегда это были надлежащие и адекватные перемены, соответствующие целям и задачам, поставленным перед школой. Однако школа их выполняла, главным образом за счет эффективной работы командующего и преподавательского состава. Особую благодарность заслуживает профессорско - преподавательский состав, хотя многие офицеры, перед направлением в Зеленую Гору, не имели совершенно никакого опыта в этой области. Успехом Пехотной офицерской школй № 2 было также то, что несмотря на высокую текучесть кадров, удалось создать эффективный и опытный преподавательский состав. Во время своего существования в 1948-1955-х годах в школе обучено более 3 000 польских офицеров и проведено обучение около 2 000 офицеров на краткосрочных курсах.
