The author’s consideration concerns 15 years’ existence of The Departament of Ethnoculturology and Regional Education at Paweł Włodkowic University College. It is shown the base of ethnology and methodology of research in the term of local, regional and ethnic studies against the general problems of contemporary humanities. It contains practical implications and the current situation of Polish regionalism. The text presents the discussion material.
