The main aim of my publication is to present the process of evolution of the Ukrainian parliamentary system in 1998-2006. The reason to choose this period is the fact of significant changes that happened in the Ukrainian political scene that time. Although in the beginning it was the left parties domination, later on we could notice a magnificent increase of the support for centre -right. This tendency was immortalized by the great results of ‘Our Ukraine’ in the parliamentary election in 2002 and, above all, ‘The Orange Revolution’. However, the main topic of our interest is replacing in that period loose and ephemeral parties by much stronger elective coalitions playing a significant role in the structuralization of the Ukrainian system. In addition, this publication is to show social factors determining development of the Ukrainian partial system and even now having significant influence on it.
