Employment in the world’s fisheries sector is increasing. It concerns particularly the developing countries and aquaculture. A reverse phenomenon is observed in the fisheries sector of the developed countries where the employment is decreasing. Modification of the Common Fisheries Policy has lead to a significant reduction in the fishing fleets and employment in the fisheries sector of the EU member state
