The purpose of this paper is to analyze connections between individual competencies (moral competence, self-leadership) and employees' unethical behavior. The article points to theoretical premises which suggest that the level of moral competence and self- leadership can be an important factor, which limits manifestation of employees' unethical practices. In order to verify these dependencies empirical research was conducted on a sample of 206 people. The results show that people with higher moral competence show less unethical behavior (r=-0,380; p p<0,01) but self-leadership does not correlate with this type of behavior (r=-0.023). The article also shows the practical implications of the results and future research perspectives.
