This article represents preliminary insights into the issue of Cieszyn Silesia from two complementary perspectives – recently popular category called “geopoetics” and the notion of “oicology”,understood as a peculiar practice of anthropological thinking of (and rethinking) home (oikos). Cieszyn Silesia is not only described in this article as anestablished territory in terms of geography and history,butit is also discussedas a “little homeland” and as a space which has its individual identityand narration predetermined in some way by the semiotics of a borderland space. However, narration on the problem of Cieszyn Silesia, just like any other, still demands some revisions, corrections, re-readings and further continuations. The article indicates the importance of metaphor being a component ofevery story and constituting a medium for meanings (also the individual ones) which contribute to the ongoing happening of community.
