The purpose of the following article is to discuss the mechanism of metaphorization in the context of conducting scientific analysis of political science. In this sense, the use of metaphor is explained on the set of process scientific research, which is an illustration of the multi-level interaction between the subject and object of cognition. In this matter the article undertakes the following issues: metaphor and scientific cognition; metaphor as a heuristic tool; irradiation and semantic approximation; presentationism versus representationism in the scientific explanation. Finally, the article refers the representationalism of metaphorical thinking in political science analysis.
