The study is an attempt to summarize the calls for aid applications for the “Young Farmers Program” under sub-measure 6.1. “Helping to start a business for young farmers program” covered by the 2014-2020 Rural Development Program. The eligibility criteria have changed significantly, as reflected in the number of aid applications submitted to the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARMA) . In total, 11,652 applications were received by ARMA under three calls. This represents 40% of the expected number of requests (29,000). There were similar applicants in the first two calls for help - about 3,400. people. A significant increase in the interest in sub-measure 6.1 was recorded in 2017 – then the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture applied 4.9 thousand – more about 42.9% than in the 2016 vacancy. The greatest interest for young farmers was in Mazowieckie, Wielkopolskie and Lubelskie. Potential young farmers will have another chance to get support, according to the timetable for calls for proposals published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first quarter of 2018.
