Autor definiuje katechetykę jako subdyscyplinę teologii pastoralnej, autonomiczną i interdyscyplinarną. Definicja katechetyki zależna jest od tego, co rozumie się przez katechezę. Katecheza rozumiana jest tutaj ewangelicznie jako pomoc ludziom, aby wierzyli, że Jezus jest Synem Bożym, i jako wychowanie i nauczanie życia chrześcijańskiego oraz budowanie Kościoła – Ciała Chrystusa. Katechetyka zajmuje się ewangelizacją i katechezą w Kościele. W obecnym artykule autor wskazuje podmiot, podział, zadania, źródła oraz metody katechetyki.

Author defines catechetics as a subdiscipline of the pastoral theology, autonomous and interdisciplinary theological science. The definition of catechetics is conditional upon the comprehension of catechesis. The name of catechesis was given to the whole of the efforts within the Church to make disciples, to help people to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and to educate and instruct them in this life and thus build up the Church - the Body of Christ. Catechetics is a research on evangelization and catechesis in the Church. In this article author writes about subject, division, tasks, sources and methods of catechetics.

L’autore definisce catechesi come autonoma e interdisciplinare sotto-disciplina della teologia pastorale. La definizione di catechetica dipende da cosa si intende per la catechesi. Essa è qui intesa evangelicamente come un aiuto a persone a credere che Gesù sia il Figlio di Dio, e come l’educazione e l’insegnamento di vita cristiana nonché come costruzione della Chiesa - il Corpo di Cristo. La catechetica è impegnata nell'evangelizzazione e nella catechesi in Chiesa. Nel presente l’autore indica il soggetto, la divisione, i compiti, le fonti e i metodi della catechetica.
