The author of the article, Ewa Miernowska, conducts Polish language courses in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature, University of Wisconsin-Madison. It is the oldest Department of Polish Studies at the US Universities. An attempt is made to characterise the way (methods) of conducting Polish language classes in Madison.
