The attractiveness of labour markets for work commuters, referring to the traditional push-pull model of migration described by E. Lee, is shaped by two key-driver categories: pull forces which attract external labour resources and push forces which push local labour workforce outside. These factors can be considered more broadly and be perceived consequently as development opportunities and constraints/obstacles of individuals as well as professional and social groups. The interplay between pull and push forces creates fundamental conditions/circumstances to reveal various spatial mobility patterns among work commuters. The main objective of the study was to evaluate attractiveness of the small towns' labour markets in Poland, or in a wider approach identify their position in the hierarchy of labour markets in the country. In order to fulfil the main objective the comparative analysis was applied based on the scale (size of flows) of labour resources incoming to/outgoing from the small town and other territorial categories: large cities, medium- -sized towns and rural areas.
