Contemporary Dance Comprehension in Poland

Abstracts
The notion of dance has been continually neglected and distorted in the Polish language both in literary discourse and common parlance. Its actual significance can be demonstrated by comparing various types of discourses which include the term dance (or to take a dance, dance something out and many others) and relating them to their contribution to the development of the arts and the home culture. This paper focuses on different kinds of the word’s application and its use in Polish and reflects on the present status and relevance of the art of dancing in Poland.
