The article presents the analysis results determining the interrelations between the inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) (measured by the accumulated net value of FDI in the economy) and shaping of international competitiveness (according to the Global Competitiveness Index) of new Member States (EU-10) in the period after EU-accession (2004-2016). The study assumes that in the era of global economic inter-connections, the economic success of a country may be rooted not only in the development of domestic companies, but also be connected to its national ability to integrate with the international division of labour, especially through linkages to transnational corporations. The analysis is based on the methods of linear correlation and regression analysis, most commonly used in this type of research, and the main conclusions are summarised at the end.
