Celem artykułu jest ukazanie i analiza twórczości chińskiego artysty multidycyplinarnego – Ai Weiweia. Artykuł prezentuje spektrum projektów na pograniczu architektury i sztuki, analizuje też wzajemne podobieństwa i różnice w ramach wymienionych dziedzin oraz współpracę między architektami a artystami. Opisywane realizacje stanowią ilustrację nowych tendencji w projektowaniu architektonicznym XXI wieku i różnych reakcji na kontekst lokalny i globalny. Prezentowany materiał i wyniki badań są punktem wyjścia dla dalszych opracowań dotyczących szerszych współzależności sztuki i architektury.

Main aim of the article is an analysis of selected works by Chinese multidisciplinary artist – Ai Weiwei. The text presents a broad spectrum of architectural and artistic projects, it also shows similarities and differences between above-mentioned disciplines and focuses on different forms of collaborations between artists and architects. Presented realizations illustrate new tendentions and trends in architectural design of XXI century and different rections to local and global context. Presented material may be treated as a starting point to broader research concerning interactions between architecture and art.
