Za gwarantowanie depozytów w Hiszpanii odpowiada Fundusz Gwarantowania Depozytów Instytucji Kredytowych (po hiszpańsku: Fondo de Garantía de Depósitos de Entidades de Crédito - FGDEC, oficjalne tłumaczenie nazwy na język angielski: Deposit Guarantee Fund of Credit Institutions). Jest to instytucja stosunkowo nowa, powołana do życia w październiku 2011 r., wskutek zintegrowania dotychczasowej struktury gwarancyjnej, składającej się z trzech rozdzielnych podmiotów.
