The correlation of Latin and French gnoseological lexicon of Descartes’ works and the necessity to translate the French terms with due account taken of their Latin prototypes has been analyzed in the article. Proceeding from the thesis about a greater level of terminological development of Descartes’ Latin texts the conceptual approach is suggested for the translation of French Cartesian texts and the updated system of Ukrainian terminological analogues.
