Dysphonia is a frequent voice disorder in the midst of people who use their voice as a instrument of working. It is a medical term for hoarseness or other phonation disorders, thus dysphonia is a voice disorder characterized by hoarseness, weakness or even loss of voice. Apparatuses: phonatory, respiratory and occlusal should be healthful, if we want to have a normal voice. Chronic, functional dysphonia can occur among people such as teachers or journalists, who use their voice a lot. Functional dysphonia as one of many kinds of dysphonias is a voice disorder when vocal quality deteriorates and both – anatomic and neurologic etiologic factors are excluded. We can divide the functional voice disorders into four categories based on etiology and symptoms. Prevention and rehabilitation for voice disasters should be combined and they should include the elimination of vocally abusive behaviours. The last part of article is about simple exercises of voice. They should be helpful in addition to the speech therapy and vocal production.
