The keynote of this article is the thesis of the need for development of new competencies, a new approach to business, particularly new attitudes in the face of the contemporary, socioeconomic and cultural reality. This reality, implied by the globalization process, requires the use of appropriate cognitive approach in search of answers to the question of what rules- teleological or causality – and, therefore, what structures determine globalization. Subordination structure, reducing the freedom and initiative of a person, or interaction structure, creating the conditions conducive to creativity and innovation. Considerations lead to the conclusion that the structure which should be distinguished is that, where people in power will always strive to petrify the relationship of subordination, and thus the diversity and multiplicity of forms of human behavior will be treated as a threat. There is also the second type of the structures of globalization, which is dominated by openness to the reality of actually existing diversity of its forms and manifestations. These structures, which remain in a synergistic system to each other, release both the energy of the progress of civilization and the specific risks of globalization. This is demonstrated by the impact of technological progress and development of technoscience shaping contemporary reality of socio-economic and cultural globalization
