This publication focuses on the role of reconnaissance subunits in Polish Armed Forces and aims to outline all aspects of their training and service in overseas missions. It is hypothesized that appropriate training of reconnaissance subunits is essential to enable an effective overseas mis-sion. The paper consists of three main chapters which elaborate further on the above subject. The author focuses on defining the role of reconnais-sance units in the Polish Armed Forces, their specific training requirements in respect to the ability to carry out overseas missions and identification of potential obstacles which could arise while training to work abroad. The relevant literature was searched and legislation reviewed. The author was able to conclude that above hypothesis is correct and highlighted the par-amount importance of appropriate training of reconnaissance subunits as essential aspect of their overseas service.
