Sebastiano Maffettone – political philosopher, professor at University of LUISS Guido Carli – Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli – in Rome, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, director of the Center of Ethics and Global Politics. He was an academic teacher on Harvard University, Columbia University, Tufts University, Boston College, University of Pennsylvania, University of New Dehli, the London School of Economics and Political Science, Sciences Po (L’Institut d’études politiques de Paris). He is editor-in-chief of the journal „Filosofia e Questioni Pubbliche – Philosophy and Public Issues” (LUISS University Press). His scientific work primarily concerns works by John Rawls. Sebastiano Maffettone is the author of monographs and essays: I fondamenti del liberalismo (1996) (with Ronald Dworkin), Etica Pubblica (2001), La pensabilità del mondo (2006), Rawls: un’introduzione (2010), Rawls. An Introduction (2010). He takes the current issues of public ethics, bioethics, globalization, foundations of liberalism.
