The article presents the importance of National Security Strategy and its impact on national policy. In the article, the author shows the meanings and etymology of the word “strategy.” Then, a process of its adaptation in Polish law is presented. After that the author presents a short description of Poland’s National Security Strategy from 2007 and 2014, which are analysed later in the article. Comparative analysis focused on issues such as: international situation and its impact on security, the problem of Russia, energy policy, threats in cyberspace, administration and media cooperation in crisis situation. The provisions of the strategy are confronted with other acts of law and current events.
