The beginning of computer-broken magazines in Poland, pioneering treatise of Cyrillic fonts, innovative distribution, profits from the very first issue, spectacular success of a Polish publisher across the eastern border – all refer to the press title: „Bankowskaja Gazeta’’.This special supplement constitutes an unknown strand in the history of „Gazeta Bankowa „weekly (not given an earlier description). For years it was admired for its: innovative concept as well as the meritorious and financial success of a private publisher. The presented information can make a contribution towards the acquisition of knowledge about Polish media structure during the transformation of the political system. The report was based on the first editor-in-chief’s point of view who was involved in the realization of the innovative publishing project in the new (after 1989) realities of the Polish press market. The subject of analysis is vital from economics of the media point of view, i.e. people, finance, advertisement, distribution and new technologies. The axis of the analysis construction is the question of the idea of the exceptional concept of the press title, however, the key point is the dependence of the publisher’s success on human resources. Currently, during the confrontation between the traditional and new media – the description of this experience is not only of historic value.
