Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza najnowszej „Podstawy programowej katechezy Kościoła katolickiego w Polsce” oraz „Programu nauczania religii” w celu odpowiedzi na pytanie, w jaki sposób dokumenty te uwzględniają w swej treści kwestie związane z zagadnieniem obrony życia nienarodzonych. Autor przedstawia krótką charakterystykę podręczników oraz analizuje je w aspekcie zagadnień z zakresu aborcji. Analizie poddano podręczniki metodyczne nauczania religii dla nauczyciela i dla uczniów, opublikowane przez Wydawnictwo WAM. Są to podręczniki, które cieszą się popularnością i bardzo często sięgają po nie katecheci. W zakończeniu podjęto próbę oceny prezentowanych dokumentów i podręczników oraz zaproponowano katalog wskazań dla autorów kolejnych edycji oraz praktyczne propozycje dla katechetów.

The objective of this article is to analyze the following documents: The Basics of Catholic Church Education in Poland and School Program of Teaching Religious Education in the context of protecting human life from the very beginning. The author presents a brief summary of schoolbooks published by the publishing house WAM and analyzes them in the aspect of abortion. The materials are very popular among Religious Education teachers. The summary attempts to evaluate the discussed documents and books and suggests useful tips for the teachers and the authors of the next editions.

Der Artikel beinhaltet eine Analyse der neuesten "Grundordnung für Katechese der Katholischen Kirche in Polen" sowie des "Lehrplans für Religion" in Berücksichtigung der Fragestellung, wie in diesen Dokumenten die Thematik des Schutzes des ungeborenen Lebens behandelt wird. Dafür wurden die Fachbücher für Religionsunterricht für Lehrer und Schüler des WAM-Verlages einer Analyse unterzogen. Es handelt sich dabei um beliebte Lehrbücher, die sehr oft von den Katecheten verwendet werden. Der Schlussteil versucht, die genannten Dokumente und Lehrbücher zu beurteilen und gibt Hinweise für die Autoren weiterer Buchausgaben und praktische Hinweise für Katecheten.
