Each language has its own way of perception and surrounding reality representation which is expressed in general national and specific system of views for all its bearers. It leads to different visions of the world by different language bearers and, finally, to the formation of the unique world language picture, namely the picture to the only given community. In modern researches the usage of the words “the world image” and “picture of the world” is very urgent and topical. The words “forest” and “garden” have common meanings in the Russian language picture of the world. There exist three meanings: a territory overgrown with the trees (войти в лес, сад); every living creature (лес, сад проснулся); any image (лес, сад на открытке). So these words have identical combinability other words.Different volumes of these objects (forest and garden) contribute to the difference in their meanings. Thus, the word “forest” in the Russian language designates many round vertical objects; magic beast, water elements. The word “forest” can designate some abstract ideas as well. All this brings the concept “forest” together the concepts “large number” and concept “animate nature”. The meanings of the word “garden” bring this concept together with the concept “animate nature”. The difference between these two words are attributed to the universal opposition Nature – Culture: the word “forest” realizes the universal notion of Nature, whereas the word “garden” denotes the universal image of Culture.
