W artykule omówiono wybrane renarracje Śpiącej królewny od XIV do XXI wieku: romans rycerski, baśnie literackie oraz filmy animowane i aktorskie. Analiza koncentruje się na przedstawieniach postaci wybawiciela płci męskiej. Jego heroizacja i idealizacja wydają się stosunkowo nowym dodatkiem do mitu Śpiącej królewny i stanowią strategię, która pozwala złagodzić ambiwalentną naturę Księcia jako wybawcy-agresora oraz obecną implicytnie przemoc.
