The aim of this article is to present the role of morality in Hans Morgenthau’s theory of international politics presented in his classical book: Politics Among Nations. The author is trying to present proper interpretation which is not faulty of either denying the role of morality in Morgenthau’s theory, or giving it too much importance. The article analyses Mogrentahu’s conception of human nature in the broader context of the realist tradition, then shows the reception of Max Weber’s ethics of responsibility on international milieu made by Morgenthau, and finally presents the polemic with an interpretation of Morgenthau’s theory on the premise, that it is mainly influenced by Judeo-Christian tradition.
