The article presents the comparative analysis of Spanish and Polish franchise market with the indication on their main similarities and differences. The comparison includes such aspects as: length of the franchise contract’s application in the economic, regulations and institutional factors which determine the franchise market’s development, number of franchise chains and units, employment and turns generated by franchise sector, sectoral structure of franchise market, structure of franchise market based on the origin of chains, and international expansion of native franchise chains.
