The factors which, as reported by the respondents, influence workaholism were determined. Additionally, the impact exerted by the addiction on social relations of workaholics as well as doctoral students' perception of workaholism were analysed. Conclusions concerning the justifiability of medical treatment with regard to persons affected with workaholism and the term of Adult Children of a Workaholic were formed. The results obtained in the study clarify the standpoint of doctoral students in relation to workaholism as an addiction and may form the grounds for further scientific research concerning the issue among young persons engaged in creative activity.
