Abstracts
The article deals with the issue of marriage conflict in the first decades of Polish People's Republic. The problem is shown in a broader context of the long-term changes in the institutions of family and marriage, which ensued in the 20th century. The analysis is based on the ego-documents written for autobiographical competitions organized in Poland in 1960s. The author identified main grounds of marriage conflicts, which have been mentioned by the competition respondents. The article is an attempt to answer the question: which of the identified grounds of conflicts, and to what extent, resulted from the specificity of the era, and, whether the transformations in the institutions of family and marriage influenced significantly on everyday life of ordinary people.
