Władysław Świątecki, born 1926, professor in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. World-known specialist in nuclear physics, the author of fundamental papers, see e.g.: the droplet model of the atomic nucleus, the coalescense & reseparation model, the proximity potential, the extra push energy. Member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, doctor honoris causa of the Jagiellonian University. Passed away 2009.
