Ewa Szelburg-Zarembina was to be an outstanding writer. In the interwar pe- riod, Kazimierz Czachowski very favorably judged her first works. What resulted, therefore, that today, at the beginning of the twenty-first century, Szelburg-Za- rembina functions solely as an author of children’s poetry books printed in Polish language classes for children? Anna Marchewka in the book devoted to the life and work of Irena (!) Szelburg trying to explain why this happened. This state of affairs makes primarily responsible the auto-erase strategy [strategia autowymazywania] that can be defined as the authorial gesture of annihilation serving both the per- son’s biography and the creativity at the same time.
